Dear Beatty Schools Family:
On behalf of Nye County School District (NCSD) and Beatty Schools, Mr. Sullivan and I would like to
inform you that your student has been selected to participate in the NCSD strategic planning process
to provide input into the future direction of the District. Your child will be joining a group of Beatty
students for the planning session with me. Participation is voluntary and will be a valuable part of
the strategic planning process.
The strategic plan will give us a new Vision and Mission statement, a Portrait of a Graduate, and 4-
6 goals that will guide our focus for the next five years. The student meeting will be held at Beatty
High School during the school day with me next week Wednesday, March 8, 2023. Middle school
students will be transported to and from the high school by school vans.
I will be meeting with groups of staff, parents, students, and community members across the District
to gather input for our new plan. By working together, we can create a strategic plan that everyone
can support and stand behind as we continue our focus on student achievement.
I look forward to meeting with your student. My goal is to present the final Strategic Plan to the
NCSD Board of Trustees at the May 2023 board meeting for approval. Then in June, we will set up a
day for district-wide committees to create the annual objectives to meet each of the goals.
