Parents/Guardian Right to Know About Teacher and Paraprofessional Qualifications (Every Student Succeeds Act
(ESSA, Title I, Part A, Section 1112)
Dear Parents,
In compliance with the requirements of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Beatty Elementary, Beatty Middle, and Beatty High School would like to inform you that you may request information about the professional qualifications of your child’s teacher(s) and/or instructional paraprofessional(s).
The following information may be requested for the teacher(s):
● Whether your child’s teacher has met the Nevada teacher licensing criteria for the grade level and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction.
● Whether the teacher is teaching under an emergency or other provisional status through which Nevada’s qualification or licensing criteria have been waived.
● Whether the teacher is in the field of discipline of the certification of the teacher.
● Whether your child is provided services by paraprofessionals, and if so, their qualifications.
